We just returned from a real, live, honest-to-whatever vacation!
Whoooeeee!
The big whoop, according to Da Gurlz, was the air-boat ride. For 1 1/2 hours, we rode around in a 21-foot air boat powered by a 400 cubic-inch V8 engine. Let me tell you, bruddah, that sucker MOVES.
We saw gators, birds, and a bald cypress grove in the midst of a conservation area that was beautiful to behold. And, unless you've got a really knowledgeable guide, you'd never know it was there.
This air boat draws 6 inches. With that 400 CI V8 motor, it'll go from zero to 50MPH in less than 30 seconds. And do donuts, at speed, to make your heart jump out of your chest.
I also got to spend some time with my father-in-law. Don is one of the last of the China Marines. From 1946 to 1949 he rattled around Tien Tsin and various other places on main-land China. Needless to say, he's underwhelmed by the current government of the PRC.
I talked to my Dad - he's recovering from his heart attack nicely.
I'm now a very tired puppy, so I'm gonna get some serious rack-time.
Politics and Supreme Court nominations are going to have to wait for a while.
