On this day, 6 June 1944, the beaches in Normandy, France, awoke to the sound of freedom.
British, Canadian, and American troops went ashore at beaches named Omaha, Juno, Utah, and Sword.
Eleven months later, Europe was freed from the iron heel of Hitler.
In Normandy, near Omaha, Juno, Utah, and Sword are cemetaries, covered in crosses, holding our honored dead.
We shall always remember...
