- - - - - Top Rock 'n Roll Tunes - - - - -
Bob Thompson and I are almost of an age (+/- 4 yrs). HERE he has listed his 50 favorite Rock & Roll tunes. I have a few additions, in no particular order:
Ride My See-Saw - Moody Blues Saturday( Night's All Right) - Elton John WOLD - Harry Chapin Heart of Rock & Roll - Huey Lewis & The News In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida - Iron Butterfly Johnny B. Goode - Chuck Berry Bad Moon Rising - Creedence Clearwater Revival Lucretia McEvil - Blood, Sweat & Tears
Plus a host of others. There's some good stuff out there, and we (any of us!) could make lists of upwards of 1,000 without even trying!
Now, about Johann Sebastian Bach....
Can you imagine the original Doors trying to do Fugue in G-Minor? (I can just hear Denny trying this!)
Or JS himself with a modern electronic organ?
Or the Greatest JSB practitioner of all (E. Power Biggs) doing the Art of Fugue with the Stones AND the Moody Blues for backup?
Jayzus, I'd trade 3 Jane Fondas, 1/2 of a Pat Buchanan, and all 14 Hillarys for 1/2 hour of E. Power wailin' away at the Mighty Wurlitzer!
And I'd smile....
