The AcidMan has proclaimed that he's giving up blogging.

I don't think it'll stick.

Y'see, we all have this... unscratchable itch to write.

Not just to write, but to probe and provoke. We provoke thought, and laughter, and outrage. We probe our own lives, and then trot that puppy out there, for all to see. We write about politics, and silliness, and the stuff, good and bad, that touches and directs our lives.

And we feed on this.

We don't really, down deep where it matters, care whether or not anyone actually reads our stuff. What matters is that we put it out there.

We bare our souls - and we rejoice in the... rightness of it all.

It's oxygen. It's nutrition for the soul. It is necessary for life.

75/25, he's back within a month.

Why? Rob, you can't NOT write.

It's a dreadful addiction. (I know. I tried giving it up once.)

Worse than perfectly roasted peanuts. Or maybe boiled peanuts. Once you have the taste, the itch, you just can't leave it alone.

At least, I hope you can't.

You're really a very entertaining guy, and you do, every once in a while, touch upon the reasons why we do this silly-assed thing called "blogging".

Because we can't not do it.
