- - - - - What DOES America Export? - - - - -

Go ahead. Name something.

Having a hard time with that one?

Take a look at this:

Europe is a small place and it is hard not to run into history there. It is also hard to avoid the historic contributions of the United States in the defense of freedom and liberty on the Continent. There are cemeteries throughout Europe -- in France, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg -- containing the remains of American soldiers who died in battle to free Europe in two world wars.

This guy is not from a place you would readily think of. He's the Ambassador to the United States from a small country - one that's been pretty much of an after-thought through most of the twentieth century.

This small country has, in the last fifteen or twenty years, made a huge transition, from one kind of place to one completely different.

And, here's the answer to the question - "What does America export?"

The difference between the United States and the Islamic terrorists is this: The terrorists export death. The Americans export freedom.

I think the name of the country will surprise you a bit. See the whole article HERE.

Ah, yes...Evul Amerikka's triple-flavor-favorite export is just a very simple idea - Freedom. Of course, maintaining that freedom can be a horridly complicated and messy process. Just look at the massive amounts of confusion and noise and... disorderliness of American-style, or British-style, or Taiwan-style, or French-style democracy - loud, noisy, contradictory, uncertain, stumbling, and.... messy.

But it works, most of the time.

Such a simple word, freedom. The complications from such a simple word, and idea, can drive a reasonably sane man to some serious drink - but the results are worth it.

As my very good friend Clint noted over at Left Coast Lament, I had a certain amount of trouble a couple of days ago trying to post to this POS wonderfully lobotomized lucid set of diseased rantings brilliant essays.

In Blogger's defense, I must also note that, in the more than two years I've been posting my very best drivel snivelings efforts at enlightenment, I can count the number of times I've had problems on both hands.

That sounds like a lot, but please keep in mind, this place doesn't cost me one, single, solitary dime.

That's not a bad deal at all, and a pretty good record for something that I don't even have to worry about, don't you think?
