Whilst frequency-hopping yesterday, looking for some good in-your-face rock 'n roll, I stubbed my finger on Sean Hannity. And.... he was going to Be There, Live, at Terri Central for the Hannity & Colmes show last night.
Oh, Joy. Somehow, I managed to skip that.
The Vultures of The Press have been circling at a distance, but now the Big Carrion-Eaters are There, Live!
More than 50% of the time, I tend to agree with Mr. Hannity. But sometimes, his version of "Fair and Balanced" runs a bit to "I'm right and you're wrong", and not enough towards "I'm sure glad it's not ME who has to decide."
I'm delighted to say that I have never been in a position to have to do the following:
1. Watch my beloved wife turn into a .... vegetable.
2. Fight with my in-laws about what my beloved wants.
3. Have the whole thing show up on the evening news.
4. Defend myself in front of the whole damned world.
There is no closer bond than marriage, for me, at least. My love IS my life. Everyone else runs a very distant second, third, fourth, or fifteenth. That's just the way it is.
I'm here to tell you - I'm sure glad it's not ME who has to decide. And you can be damned sure that Mrs. OWW and I have made it clear, in writing, exactly what, and under what conditions, we want done in such a case as Terri Schiavo's family is facing.
We do NOT want the Vultures of the Press descending upon US!
