- - - - - After Christmas - - - - -

Now that most of the wrapping paper is in the trash, we're starting to actually enjoy some of the plunder that we got as gifts.

The Munchkins (6 and 10) are enthralled with, of all things, a pair of joystick games that plug into the TV. These are some of the "classic" video games of the past. One joystick has four games in it - PacMan, Galaxian, Race Car, and Bosconian. The other joystick game has Frogger. They're enthralled, and I have to admit, Good Ol' Dad is somewhat attracted hissownself.

Mrs. OWW's computer was starting to have some stability issues, mostly related (according to me) to all the stuff she parked on her Win2K desktop. Also according to me, the slightly antiquated motherboard/processor comination is starting to show it's age. So, I started migrating her stuff from the 800Mhz Celeron system over to a 1.8G Athlon, which itself started showing signs of instability. I traced that to a wonky power supply.

To make a long story a bit shorter, I acquired another case/power supply combination for US $20 (used) that some pleasant maniac had painted a bright yellow, with a clear window on the side of the case, and a fan with LED's in it, and a purple "cold cathode" light as well. And a known good power supply.

The big deal here is the yellow case. Mrs. OWW is absolutely freaky for yellow for things like cars (hers is BRIGHT yellow) and computer cases (also bright yellow).

Me? I'm happy because I'm not hearing "Oh, CRAP!" any more.

And what did Good Old Dad get that he likes?

A pair of really comfy, soft long-sleeved shirts made of a soft cotton that I can wear as a light jacket. And a gift card for $25 to a bookstore - which I'm going to take an entire two or three hours using to pick out just the book I want. 'Way cool....
