- - - - - The Ethics of Blogosphere Borrowing - - - - -

I've been thinking recently - a very scary thought, in and of itself. Painful, too.

"The Ethics of Blogospere Borrowing" - what to do when you find something interesting/cool/funny on someone else's blog?

Borrow it, of course!

BUT.... simple courtesy says you give attribution to:

1. The site you got the quote from.
2. The original author, if it's not the holder of the site.

For instance, if Rob the Acid Man quotes from Dax Montana, who in turn quotes from ABC News, I'll put the link to Rob's place, and certainly to ABC News, and maybe, if I'm feeling generous, to Dax's place.

Other people do it differently, or not at all.

I will, however, "cherry-pick" that section of your post that supports my position, and ignore your feeble-minded and laughable attempts at logic.

And what brought that on?

Rob The Acid Man ran this little observation down near the bottom of the post:

"You wrote it, and I borrowed it. You can have it back now."

(Jeez... y'all can stop moaning like a vacuum cleaner while you're rolling around on the floor, now. Oh! That's laughter! Y'all are being un-kind, and un-Christian!)
