In our area, in SouthEast Coastal Georgia, we have trees. Spindly-looking pines, quite tall and very skinny.

Over the past 45 years of living in California, I got used to a slightly different view - shorter, bulkier trees, and hills.

There are no hills here. The high point in Camden County is something like twenty feet above sea level. This place is flatter than Kansas likes to brag about.

We've been here since December of 2003, and I'm still not used to the lack of surface geography. I still expect to walk out the back door and see hills. And a hill in San Jose probably measures a good thousand feet from foot to peak.
