- - - - - More on the "380 Tons" of Missing Explosives - - - - -
Now, according to ABC News, the "380 Tons" of missing RDX explosive may have been as little as 3 tons, according to the UN inspectors who inventoried that stuff on 14 Jan 2003, just prior to the invasion.
See the ABC News story HERE.
The information on which the Iraqi Science Ministry based an Oct. 10 memo in which it reported that 377 tons of RDX explosives were missing — presumably stolen due to a lack of security — was based on "declaration" from July 15, 2002. At that time, the Iraqis said there were 141 tons of RDX explosives at the facility.
But the confidential IAEA documents obtained by ABC News show that on Jan. 14, 2003, the agency's inspectors recorded that just over three tons of RDX were stored at the facility — a considerable discrepancy from what the Iraqis reported.
The IAEA documents could mean that 138 tons of explosives were removed from the facility long before the United States launched "Operation Iraqi Freedom" in March 2003. |
So now, it has been shown that:
1. The UN people "rolled" the NY Times.
1a. Corollary: The UN people really don't like GW and are willing to try to influence the US election with non-facts.
2. The NY Times has a recent history of screwing itself - witness Jayson Blair.
3. Kerry is willing to run with anything at all that might make GW look bad. This is the policy of desperation - Kerry thinks he's losing anyway, so why not, it might stick.
If I wasn't so mad at Kerry for his declarations in 1971, when I was still serving in the US Navy, I could laugh myself silly at the way that the Mainstream Media and Kerry are repeatedly shooting themselves in the foot with a single-shot 10-gauge full of rock salt.
