....have taken another hostage, as everyone knows. And, as everyone also knows, she's begging for her life.
Al Zarquawi and his little buddies may have stepped in it, this time. Mrs. Margaret Hassan has spent 30 years in Iraq, attempting to help the folks in the greatest need. She is well-respected in Iraq, and the Iraqis themselves are furious with Al Zarquawi.

She's lived in Iraq for three decades and has been a passionate advocate for the Iraqi people, arguing against the U.S.-led invasion and the United Nations sanctions that preceded it on grounds they would deepen human suffering.
Margaret Hassan, director of CARE International's operations in Iraq since 1991, heads a staff of 60 Iraqis running nutrition, health and water programs in Iraq.
Her group was one of few international relief agencies not to pull out during the ensuing insurgency. |
