- - - - - Why Vets Don't Like Kerry - - - - -
I've been pretty much ignoring the Swift Boat Vets for Truth. There's so much confusion there that nobody knows, or can verify who did what when.

What can be verified is what Kerry did after his discharge.

On April 22nd, 1971, Kerry's sat in front of the US Senate, and, on the record, said:

t is impossible to describe to you exactly what did happen in Detroit, the emotions in the room, the feelings of the men who were reliving their experiences in Vietnam, but they did. They relived the absolute horror of what this country, in a sense, made them do.
They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

These allegations were later found to be mostly false. Many of the "witnesses" in the "Winter Soldier Investigation" were found to be exagerating or flat-out lying.

Try doing a Google on "winter soldier" (without the quotes) and see for yourself.
And Kerry presented these "findings" as the truth.

I was still in the US Navy in 1971. The backlash from this fraudulent testimony was immediate. Civilians, especially our peers, the young folks between 18 and 25, started asking us if we were "baby killers" or "war criminals". The first time that happened to me, my eyes bugged out and my jaw dropped, and all I could think to say was "What the hell is that all about?"

This sort of thing went on for years.

And it was a lie.

Kerry's record as a US Senator is enough for me to not vote for him. His record in Viet Nam Vets Against the War (VVAW) is enough to make me distrust him. The combination is enough for me to despise him.
