Hurricane Frances is maybe coming here. See the NOAA map HERE. At the current time, it looks like central Florida is going to get pasted. Hurricanes, however, are notoriously fickle, so I'm keeping a close eye on this monster. We'll know whether or not to run by Friday.

**** Later ****

My in-laws, who live in Cocoa Beach, are on their way up to us. Frances is projected to smack Cocoa Beach right in the chops. They've boarded everything up and will be here, traffic permitting, before midnight.

The current projected track (see the map above) takes Frances well inland of us.

If we have to run, we'll head up into the middle of South Carolina. Reservations have been made.

Last Friday Mrs. OWW had some x-rays taken to evaluate whether or not elective surgery would be performed to deal with her diverticulitis (see the reasons for surgery HERE). We went to see Mrs. OWW's surgeon yesterday. Much to our surprise and pleasure, surgery is NOT indicated - this is a Very Good Thing. Diverticulitis is a serious condition, and if surgery had been required, the Doc would have told us.

Mrs. OWW is determined that she's going to watch her diet very carefully to prevent a recurrence. The three weeks from the first twinge of pain, through five days in the hospital, to a week's recuperation at home was Not Fun. She's also determined, at this point, that if she has another attack, surgery will be performed to eliminate the condition.
