- - - - - "Upgrade" or Die? - - - - -
Microsoft has announced what amounts to an "upgrade or die from cracker attacks because Windows is not secure" policy. See the whole story HERE
Microsoft this week reiterated that it would keep the new version of Microsoft's IE Web browser available only as part of the recently released Windows XP operating system, Service Pack 2. The upgrade to XP from any previous Windows versions is $99 when ordered from Microsoft. Starting from scratch, the operating system costs $199. |
This, my friends, is the action of an out-and-out monopolist.
Ship a faulty product. Promote the daylights out of it. Pooh-pooh the claims that it is faulty. And then say "well it is faulty, but the fix is gonna cost you."
Crap.
Not one more dime from me, because, at last, we DO have a choice. Now that I've got a Linux system that I can live with, Windows is going the way of all evil - right onto the ash-heap of history.
