- - - - - They Caught The Cowardly SOB! - - - - -

If you'll recall, Foster Barton, a 19-year-old soldier is at home recuperating from wounds received in Iraq. Mr. Barton attended a Toby Keith concert near his home. After the show, in the parking lot, he was assaulted, from behind...

One witness, a friend of the alleged attacker, said Barton hit first. Police said they do not think that witness is credible since the six other witnesses said Barton was hit from behind.

"The witnesses said that the beating and kicking continued even after Mr. Barton was on the ground," Delaware County Prosecutor Dave Yost said. "Anytime you've got somebody kicking at somebody who is on the ground, you've got a very dangerous situation. One well-placed kick can end up being fatal."

When asked by the judge if he had anything to say, Cornwell said, "No, I just can't wait until Mr. Yost hears my side of the story."

Barton's mother said she has a message for her son's attacker, who police said ran into the crowd after the incident and was not immediately arrested.

"He needs our prayers, just like the insurgents, because he's a coward," Cindy Barton said.

Presuming that Cornwell is found guilty, I hope they string 'im up by his thumbs.

Cindy Barton has it right...he is a coward.

See the story HERE.

30-some years ago, I took a certain amount of crap from other "peaceniks". I was lucky, I was never sand-bagged like Mr. Barton, although there were some.... heated debates, with some dire threats made - which never came to pass, thank goodness. Of course, my friends and I were all six-feet plus, in splendid condition, and we hung out together, and weren't at all shy about standing up for ourselves.

My then-girlfriend said that in most ways, it was very comforting to have such large physical specimens hanging about, but she could see that the typical "peacenik" found us rather intimidating.

So, Mr. Cornwell, if you ever get out of the slammer, suppose you motor on around. I'd be delighted to .... discuss your views and actions, in a most civilized fashion, of course.
