Note to all three of my "regulars" - I've eased off a bit recently - not because I've been busy, although I have been. I've just taken a little time off, unless something really smacked me in the chops.
But now? I'm baaaack!
- - - - - The UN and Honesty, or Lack Thereof - - - - -
The UN in the person of Kofi Annan, is pretty sanctimonious about declaring the invasion of Iraq was "illegal".
So, let's talk legality, shall we?
On the minor level, remember how those noble UN-nies (that's pronounced "You Ennies", ok?) earlier this year scrambled to loot their own cafeteria in the UN building in New York? See it HERE.
Yup. These are upright, honest folk. Sure.
Now, Kofi is slamming his hosts (that's us, the US), for deposing a dictator, who not only ignored the Security Council, but routinely violated the human rights parts of the UN Charter.
But, what of the UN's honesty?
Back in March, it became evident that Kofi Annan's son was up to his neck in shady dealings in the Oil For Food program. Do a Google search on "Kofi Annan's Son" for more details than you want to know about.
At the very least, the UN is incompetent. At the worst, it's as corrupt as any other third-world institution, which is what it has become.
My opinion is: Tell the UN that they're no longer welcome in NYC, and they should find a new home.
