- - - - - The Difference Between "Liberals" and Conservatives - - - - -

Mrs. Connie Du Toit has a little essay HERE, which in large part, describes how I feel about the two major sides of American politics.

The Left believes that the Constitution can mean whatever they want it to mean (or they ignore it completely), and contract be damned.

The Left believes that social programs work, despite all evidence to the contrary. If they want to support some group they’ve determined is underprivileged or under-able, they don’t care what you think, they’re going to force you to support that group through taxation.

The one thing that Mrs. Du Toit does not say, and probably should, is that the Democrats and their allies, the far Left, know damned good and well that what they are attempting to do to the idea that is America is wreck the dream. They're trying to wreck the dream by making the government the final arbiter of what is allowed by the subjects, rather than The Dream, which is a citizenry that is the final arbiter of what the Government is allowed to do. I repeat, these people know exactly what they're doing.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: I am NOT a subject. I AM a Citizen.

- - - - - People Magazine Meets The Infamous One - - - - -

The Acidman has been interviewed by People Magazine as one of the subjects on "Blogs That Ruined My Life." See the story, such as it is, HERE.

I've read a lot of Rob's stuff. Mostly with a kind of grim amusement, but sometimes with the kind of horrified fascination that you get when you're watching the instant replay of some particularly nasty disaster - like the time that Lawrence Taylor tackled Joe Theisman and broke Theisman's leg. You can see it (the disaster) coming. Granted, most of Rob's disasters really have been self-inflicted, the root of the disasters are attributable to other people's perceptions. I have in mind the Judge, the BC, and The Company.

Point One: It wasn't, and isn't, any of The Company's damned business.

Point Two: The BC is as defined. I know. I know one of "them".

Point Three: The Judge is Politically Correct, blast his/her miserable gutless eyes.

And, yeah. I'm biased. So what? Grrrr....
