Why do I think the Palestinians are headed for a big-time fall? Why do I think Arafat stands a pretty good chance of being eliminated by another Palestinian faction? Why do I think that Israel, with all it's faults (and it does have a few) will emerge from the Intifadas stronger than it's neighbors?

The Rule of Law.

Israelis have formed a democracy in which the rule of law is paramount, and ultimately, everyone is accountable to the law.

Can you imagine this happening to any of Israel's enemies? Iran? Syria? Until recently, Iraq? Saudi Arabia? Is there an Arab democracy? (Hint: How many fingers make zero?)

Israel's chief prosecutor has drafted an indictment against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in a long-running corruption scandal that could drive him from office, Israel's Channel 2 television said on Saturday.
