About half a lifetime back, I worked as a Tech Support guy, doing phone support for a Windows 3.1 app called Organize Your Way, a PIM (Personal Information Manager). For it's time, back in 1993, it was just about the best PIM you could get.
I've just about forgotten everything I ever knew about it. I don't think I even have an installation disk for it anymore, unless it's hidden in one of the (shudder) boxes that are out in the garage, waiting to be unpacked.
I just got a very nice, polite email from a guy in South Africa who has a copy of OYW, and wanted to know if it would work with Windows XP. He found a copy of my resume that's laying around on a website, and from that got the email that I use for this blog.
It should work in XP if the 16-bit sub-system (called an NTVDM) is working. See the Microsoft Knowledgebase article HERE if you're interested. In short, it ought to work.
This brings up something that most folks who like to hammer Microsoft don't much care about. Microsoft still kinda supports stuff that is ten years old. And, that stuff, for the most part, still works OK. Or at least as well as it ever did.
