After service in Iraq, and being wounded while on that service, Army Reserve Cpl. Dana Beaudine finds that getting back into his job with Securitas Security Services USA, the nation's largest private security firm, is difficult. Securitas is a contractor to the US government, providing security at Federal buildings in the Pacific North West.

The Uniformed Service Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (1994) requires that Securitas hold Beaudine's job for him while he was on active duty.

Part of Beaudine's injuries included a mild case of post-traumatic stress disorder. The disorder did not require medication. After a few counseling sessions, Beaudine was cleared by Army shrinks to go back to his civilian job.

The company, however, resisted. In a Jan. 27 letter, the company's regional human-resources director, Felecia Clarke, informed Beaudine that unless he consented to the company's psychiatric exam, "we have no choice but to determine that you have chosen to quit."

See the whole story HERE.

Commentary: I think that it is time to start holding sleazy companies like Securitas accountable. Let's start with the veterans groups. Where are the pickets? Where is the outrage? Where is the noise, dammit!

These situations will become more and more common as the Reserves start to rotate back home. Holding these companies up for the public spotlight and contempt will work. And the Federal government had damned well better step up to the plate as well.

- - - - - Third Intifada? - - - - -

Hamas and the other Palestinian terrorist organizations have just been slapped upside the head. More accurately, their leadership, including Arafat, has just been notified that they're up the smelly creek without a propulsion device.

Of course we know how well the first two Intifadas worked - not very. Now Palestinians are making noises about a Third Intifada. See the story HERE.

Salem Hamdan said that the assassination of Yassin would be the beginning of a third Palestinian intifada, adding, "Hamas as well as other militants will react and carry out revenge attacks against Israel.

"Israel, after the (Palestinian) retaliatory attacks for Yassin's assassination, will not keep quiet and it will respond to future attacks, then militants will respond, and this will be endless," said Hamdan.

Then, take a look at den Beste's analysis HERE. This analysis was published January 30th. I agreed with it then. After a re-read, I still agree with it. The Palestinians are about to have their boundaries imposed on them. And the UN is going to be told to screw off, more or less politely.

Palestinian leaders, such as Arafat and his immediate lieutenants know this. They also know that there is nothing that they can do about it.

A business was defamed when The New York Times used the pharmaceutical company's Web site to illustrate a story on illegal conduct, but the case doesn't warrant financial damages, a federal jury ruled.

Hmmm. The Times did it, but there are no consequences? And a jury didn't award damages?

- - - - - Left-Wing News-Talk Radio - - - - -

After years of owning the radio-space, right-wing talk radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Neal Boortz are about to get a little competition.

Air America radio goes on the air next Wednesday (March 31), initially in four cities - New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles - as well as by satellite and over the internet. By the end of the year, Mr Walsh hopes to be in 36 markets.

I hope they don't have cause to regret their choice of name. During the Viet Nam war, "Air America" was the CIA's very own little airline.

They have a list of co-hosts and hours of operation Lineup and Schedule." TARGET="">HERE. Their main headliner is Al Franken.
