Took the time to write this stuff out in NoteTab yesterday, then forgot to post it.

I blame tension and phone calls to various mortgage, real estate, and utility places.

We close on the new house tomorrow. We WILL be sleeping there tomorrow night. No more of this "temporary housing" bat-crap. We're going HOME.

Friday, in the AM, two major things will happen:

1. The movers show up with all of our household goods, which means that OWW is going to be busier than a one-armed paper-hanger for at least two days. But I'll be getting my desktop PC back, with all the goodies I normally use.

2. The utility guys are going to show up, and one of them will be enabling a FAST connection through a cable modem. Have I mentioned how much I hate dialup?

For the next few days, any posts you see here will be done on the bounce - as in between bounces off various walls.

Yeah, I'm going nuts. Or, at least, more nuts than I was before.

Scary, innit?

Ad Aware - One of the sneakier things that can happen to your PC is that while surfing the World Wide Wait (have I mentioned how much I hate dialup?) some folks can and do perform the following actions: "They can track your surfing habits, abuse your Internet connection by sending this data to a third party, profile your shopping preferences, hijack your browser start page or pages, alter important system files, and can do this without your knowledge or permission." (Quote from the Ad Aware site, located HERE.)

Ad Aware Standard Edition is FREE to the individual user. Ad Aware doesn't make any changes to your system without your consent.

It will clean up and get rid of malware, ad-ware, any of the stuff noted above. This is Good Stuff and is Highly Recommended by Old Wierd Ward.

Note: Just now tried a down-load of AdAware 6 using my dial-up account, which is all I have available until Friday, at the earliest.

Dialup is slooooooooooooow! I want my broadband back! Waaaaah!

- - - - - Terror by Mail - - - - -

In the latest terrorist activity, ricin-laced mail has been found at the mailroom for Senator Bill Frist, Majority Leader of the Senate. See the CNN story HERE.

For those who don't know, ricin is an extremely deadly poison derived from the castor bean plant.

In it's most notorious use, Bulgarian dissident Georgi Markov was killed by a poison dart filled with ricin and fired from an umbrella in London in 1978.

Whichever evil SOB that sent this envelope to the Senate needs a fair trial by this evening, and a hanging in the morning.

Grrrrrr......
