Haiti continues to exist in a state of continuous meltdown. Aristide has now left the country, which ain't gonna help much. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Boniface Alexandre, widely admired for his honesty, is next in the line of succession, and should be sworn in soon.
This won't help much, if at all.
Chaos and violence will probably continue. There will be calls for the US to intervene. There will be calls for the French to intervene. But until the Haitians themselves want a real solution, any intervention will only bring the temporary illusion of calm.
And that's the best case.
