There is some good advice HERE for people who are just entering the job force, or who have been "downsized" or "off-shored".
I don't always, or even usually, agree with Kim Du Toit, but in this instance, he is exactly correct.
Quote: "...learn a trade. It really doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's a function which cannot be transported [offshore]"
From painful experience, I can testify that it's true.
