In a small town, just off I-80 in Iowa, is a big rock. In years past, competing high-school athletic teams had slogans painted on it. Various teen-age amatory exploits were memorialized. "John loves Susie" was fairly common.
But now?
Well, take a look HERE.
Especially note the part for FDNY. Those guys went up in a big-and-tall burning building, knowing that there was a very good chance that the whole business would go up in smoke. And they're civilians. Those folks clank when they walk.
