THIS LINK goes to the SJ Mercury-News story about Charles Booher, the guy that threatened a spammer with bodily harm back in November.
OWW sez that Mr. Booher is right, and all spammers deserve the slammer. And worse. Much Worse. Heh....
Jerry Pournelle advocates a "Godfather, Inc." to take care of our light work.

In the mid '70's, while in college, I took a required history course. The prof and I did not see eye-to-eye on a number of points about the current benefits to the US from the outcome of the Mexican-American War of 1848. I was warned, bluntly, that if I didn't shut up, and agree with the prof in my submitted papers, I'd fail the class. I shut. I passed. Grrr...
This attitude is still widespread in the US. Unsurprisingly, it's also widespread in other countries. Example? In Israel, of all places!

Like many other people, when I hear that a lawyer is being defamed, I tend to chuckle and say "Impossible. Telling the truth isn't defamatory!". Unfair, I know. And it appears that attitude is especially unfair in this case.
Jesselyn Radack was "encouraged" to leave the Justice Department after becoming involved in the prosecution of John Lindh, the "American Taliban". It seems that telling the truth can be professionally fatal for a lawyer.
See the story HERE.

Looks like Rachel Lucas (see her stuff HERE) may resume posting soon. This would be a Good Thing. I like a lady whose blog banner reads "Impudence, Piquance, Ordnance". Besides, she's got a nice turn of phrase when she rants about "asshats".
