- - - - - Old Wierd Ward's Year In Review - - - - -

On 31 December 2002, we had a dream: Leave San Jose, CA for a more agreeable place within the limits of the 48 contiguous states.

On 31 December 2003, the dream has come true. We are now in the South-East corner of Georgia, 3000 miles from the insanity that has been California for at least the last ten years.

On 31 December 2002, OWW was just finishing up a four-month contract job doing software installs/updates for a Major Medical Company. The dream was for OWW to be permanently, gainfully employed during 2003. That didn't happen, dammitallanyway. BUT....we're still better off than we were last year at this time.

On 31 December 2002 I was a year younger, and just hoping to survive another year with my sanity intact. While there has always been vigorous debate about OWW's sanity, my basic personae hasn't changed, much. Heh.

So, in the last year, my youngest is now in kindergarten, all four of my children are healthy and not in jail, I'm not in jail, and Mrs. OWW and I, and the two youngest children have relocated from West Coast to East Coast, and Mrs. OWW's emloyer is footing that bill.

Annnnnd, OWW's employment prospects have been looking up, a bit, and let me tell you brother, that's a Very Good Thing.

Please, take a moment now to think of our young men and women in the Armed Forces. They are out there, up on the sharp end of the stick. It's fine to disagree with our political "leaders" about policy, but our folks in the Service deserve our respect and appreciation.

God grant you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
