From the blog IRAQ NOW, a little germ of "political truth". Why, exactly, do active-duty military, and former military, tend to vote Republican? See the post HERE.
As a Former Naval Person, I can testify that the Democrats have annoyed me mightily, ever since 1972, when the Democratic candidate for Congress in the district I happened to live in at the time (in San Diego), had nerve enough to tell an audience of Sailors and Marines that he (who had never been in any of the Armed Forces) knew better than us, how to improve living conditions for US Armed Forces personnel. And yes, he failed of election.
This sort of thing, treating military personnel like mildly retarded children, seems to be the one thing that the Democrats are really good at. Which pisses us off, big time. So, the political truth here is that active duty and veterans DO think for themselves. And, lissen up here Democrats, we can smell a line of bullshit from a mile away. After all, you guys are so clumsy at it! If I had been that clumsy, my Chief would have laughed himself silly.
