- - - - - We're Lawyers, Trust Us! - - - - -
The Dept of Justice commissioned KPMG to do a study, at a cost of $2 Million, of diversity in the ranks of lawyers employed by the DOJ. That thing has been complete for two years, but the DOJ didn't want to release it. Prodded by many Freedom of Information requests, they finally DID release it, with some heavy-duty censorship. Hmmm....it wasn't pen-and-ink censorship, but electronic censorship within a PDF file. Annnnnnd.....they screwed it up. The folks at the Memory Hole removed the blackout portions leaving the whole business there for anybody and everybody to read. See it HERE.
After looking over the parts that were redacted, I can't really see why the DOJ was busy getting their knickers in a twist. I mean, is Affirmative Action that much of a hot-button issue? Is Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson gonna read this thing and start foaming at the mouth? I mean, really, it is pretty vanilla. So why censor that $2 Million POS? (POS = Piece Of "Stuff")
