Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld circulated a memo to his senior staff on the status and future of the "War on Terror" and the occupation of Iraq. See the actual memo HERE.
Now then, the estimable leader of the Democrats in the Senate, Tom Daschle, is viewing this memo with alarm: "Secretary Rumsfeld's comments are an illustration of the concern that they have about the failure of their policies in Iraq, so far."
Sen. Daschle's comments tell me that he didn't bother to read the thing before he opened his mouth. Or, maybe, he's dumber than he usually sounds.
