I lived in SoCal for fifteen years. The year after we arrived (in 1960) the hills around L.A. went up in smoke. I remember what's called the Mandeville Canyon Fire - the hills around our house were billowing smoke, and at night, we were surrounded by the red glow of fire.
Say a prayer for the folks caught up in this firestorm.....
