Why should school children, and I mean LITTLE kids be subjected to computers and the Internet?

That's a serious question, and it IS a question.

I have two school-aged kids, 9 and 5. Lemme give you the straight scoop as applied to these two.

Both of them respond really well to Mom and Dad and flashcards. Letters and numbers, math problems, words and pictures, spelling, geography (with maps - the 9-year-old is fascinated by maps!), and actually writing/printing their work! We go through more paper than you would believe.

So why is it so important that primary school kids be exposed to computers?

That's the question.

FYI, we currently have FOUR computers running around here. I hold an MCSE certification, and I've been a technology geek since my days in the US Navy, from 1969 on.

And yes, your comments are earnestly solicited. Use the link at the left. You'll have to scroll down a bit, but it's there!
