Did your folks ever take you on a "Mystery Ride"? Y'know, the one where they packed you into a car, and didn't say where you were bound. Where they sang a little tune that said "I'm NOT gonna tell yaaa!"

We took ourselves and the kids to "The Greatest Show on Earth" - and it is! High-wire artistes, the Daring Young Folks on the Flying Trapeze, trained horses, trained dogs, clowns, a Ring Master in a splendid suit, and ladies in spangly costumes that did not detract from the really incredible feats of athleticism that they were performing.

As the Moody Blues once sang: "I've seen elephants galore, and seen people large and small.."

Yes, there were elephants galore, with the spangly ladies riding them. And zebras. And the guy shot out of a cannon (shudder).

And the six absolute maniacs who rode their motorcycles. In a lattice-work sphere about 15 feet in diameter. All at once (major shudder with a dose of cold feet).

Simply put, a great show. And reasonably priced - a lousy $14 a pop, up high enough to see every thing, right at center ring.

Wheeeee! The only complaint the kids (and SWMBO) had was that it didn't last long enough (2 hours). The only complaint that I had was the acts that gave me the (shudder) reaction.

YANTI - Yet Another (Windows) NT Installation. Especially familiar to those who have done this kind of thing for a living. Recently, YANTI has been supplanted by YAMSSP (Yet Another Microsoft Security Problem).
