Interesting story HERE about who, exactly, may be profiting from all that spam that clogs up your email in-box. There's some big names in there.
And HERE is one about a guy who wants to "go straight" - except that he's now declared bankruptcy, poor baby.
I am personally inclined towards the approach favored by Dr. Jerry Pournelle (click HERE), who thinks there's a need for "Godfather, Inc" - maybe to make the spammers a "deal they can't refuse"? That works for me...
