An associate of Dr. Jerry Pournelle's (HERE) has a solution for spammers. It's a little drastic, maybe, but since I (and everyone I know) spend a little time every day deleting spam, I think I approve.
A short quote: "Eric has said that spam will continue until something very physical and very painful and very public happens to fifty or so spammers, terrifying the others...."
Jerry has, in the past, suggested that "GodFather, Inc" would be the ideal corporate entity to manage these issues. I want to buy some stock....
