Two fronts on the Great Job Hunt today.
First, SWMBO has completed an on-site interview. SWMBO works for a Large Defense Company that has operations scattered all over the place. One of them is in an East Coast state in the South. The interview went pretty well. She'll have another interview within the next two weeks, and then a decision will be made. This would be a Good Thing, if it works out.
Second, a Contract Outfit that I've done work for in the past called today, and asked "Are you available?" I hope to shout I'm available! I'm soooooo available. The gig is from two weeks to "maybe long-term". My guy in the Contract Outfit made it clear that (1) this is pending budget approval, and (2) the "maybe" part of "maybe long term" is a real definite "maybe" - i.e., don't hold my breath.
I've stayed in touch with these guys in the Contract Outfit - in my previous contract with them, I had no difficulties whatsoever, and they made real sure that every thing to do with the job was as clear as crystal.
I'll hear more on Monday. It's time for "cross your fingers, cross your toes, cross your eyes above your nose!"
Dammit - I want to work! I've been on "vacation" too darned long!
