- - - - - Why I have my kids in a Private School - - - - -
Right HERE is why I absolutely do not trust the teacher's unions, especially in California.
Keeping the kids in a private school is a real strain right now, considering my jobless state, and the economic conditions for IT folks here in Silicon Valley. Since the IT unemployment rate is somewhere between 10% and 15%, my prospects of getting an IT job before the unemployment benefits run out are remote. I keep plugging away anyway. I'm an optimist.
Anyway, the image below shows a graph of dollars spent vs. reading scores. Throwing money at this problem doesn't work, despite what the teacher unions say. Draw your own conclusions.
