This will be an occasional segment of OWW. Over time, I've acquired some really useful stuff that I use on a daily basis. Today's little gem is called RoboType. It's what's called a "keyboard macro". RoboType stores sets of characters that I use frequently, such as the dashes at the top of this post. When I type a particular combination ("/-" without the quote marks) it puts in the dashes, like this: - - - - - (OK, so you didn't see me typing the /- ). Anyway, it's a freebie from PCMag.com.
