Dear Senator Hatch,

About your proposal to destroy the computers that have been linked to alleged illegal transfer of copyrighted material:

Herewith is a section of the US Constitution you should be familiar with:

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.


Of course, you're just a Dumb and/or Dumber politician, so it's too much to expect you to be familiar with US Law, even if you ARE Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
