Political Correctness has been a minor concern for me for a long time. After all, the "PCness Shock Troops" have been having kittens all over the landscape at least since the 1960's, which is when I actually noticed the knotheads.
Now, we have the brouhaha over "Whiteness Studies". See here for the story on that. Then look a Fred Reed's piece for a dissection (vivisection, really) of the PCness behind the "Whiteness Studies".
MY suggestion to all you ranters and ravers out there is to take a look a "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond (Available at your public library, or at Amazon.COM). THEN you might have a clue as to why European thought and accomplishments are so widespread. Of course, since he's a genuine thinker AND scientist who looks at facts, he's almost certainly not PC.
And yes, this post is inflammatory. I assure you, that's intentional. I fully expect that any comments I get are going to be heated. I will attempt to reply to them, honest!
