Jerry Pournelle has a new designator for the seemingly endless supply of "Military Consultants" that are showing up on the tube. NBC, ABC, CNN, Fox, and all the rest can come up with some retired military guy to make kind-of-informed comments on how the Middle-East Instructional War Demonstration are going. How about: "USTV 104th Chairborne Brigade"

I've decided to call the current conflict the "Middle-East Instructional War Demonstration" for what I think is good reason: Iran, Syria, and Libya should take very careful note of two things about the Middle East:

1. The Armed Forces of the US are very good at breaking things. Expensive things. Your Expensive Things.
2. The Armed Forces of the US can do this just about a casually as swatting an annoying fly.

Please note that I didn't include North Korea in the list of folks who should pay close attention to the "demonstration". For one thing, the geography of North Korea is much different from the Middle East. For another thing, North Korea's Large Northern Neighbor would probably object forcefully to a US invasion. And I do mean "forcefully".
