The UK, Australia, and Spain top the list due to their very public and vocal support.
While this is mainly a US operation, the "Special Relationship" between the US, the UK, and Australia is alive and well. These are not just "blood ties" of a shared ancestry, these are "blood ties" of blood shed in shared defense of our countries.
Why Spain is supporting us, I don't know for sure. Perhaps because, something in what we're trying to do in Iraq brings back a piece of their history? In the 1930's, Spain had a terrible civil war, in which Americans had a small part. That small part was a little outfit called the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. Mind you, the Brigade was under-equipped, out-numbered, poorly led, and ultimately defeated by Franco, who was supported by Hitlerian Germany. But they got in there and tried.
Eastern European countries are also supporting us. I suspect this is because they remember, all too well, what it is like to live under a ruthless dictator. I think our official and very public "Thanks" should go to Poland, Latvia, Estonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania and the Czech Republic.
