The Prez has given Saddam 48 hours to get out of Baghdad.
This does not mean that military action starts in 48 hours. He was most specific: "...at a time of our choosing". My guess? Somewhere between the 22nd and the 28th. I think we'll go at night, so going when the moon is waning gives our guys a big advantage, due to the night-vision stuff that we use.
Interesting points - Bush gave a very clear warning on the use of Weapons of Mass Destruction - use 'em, and do (at least) life in the slammer. "Just following orders" will not be accepted as an excuse. They will be prosecuted as war criminals.
He also took a sideswipe at the French and the Russians, equating their threat to veto as a lack of fortitude. In fact, he was very straight-forward, and most un-diplomat-like.
Prediction: The "war" part will be quite short. The "occupation" and "rebuild" will take damn near forever, plus a day.
