- - - - - War Talk - - - - -

Over the past week, I've read and heard much about the possibility of war with Iraq.

I'm afraid that war is now inevitible. The Prez claims that he has proof that Hussein and his merry men colluded in the murder of a US diplomat who was working in Jordan. This, all by itself, is causus belli. Additionally, he has allegedly collaborated with operatives of Al Quaida.

Would you rather deal with Hussein after he has nuclear weapons? Or before? In my opinion, it's much better to deal with this murderous son-of-a-gun now, before he has nuclear weapons available to him.

Unless he's destroyed them in accordance with numerous demands of the UN, Hussein already has other weapons of mass destruction available to him. He claims he has destroyed these weapons. He has already demonstrated his willingness to use them, both against external enemies (Iran in the '80s), and his own people. Given his history of lies, delays, and avoidance, I choose not to believe him.
