- - - - - 'Twas The Day Before Christmas - - - - -
And all the gift-shopping was done! Hoo-eee!
This has been a kinda-sorta fun week.
FUN - SWMBO has completed every single requirement for her Bachelor's from the University of Phoenix, and received the grade from the last class, which is an A, which gives her a 3.89 GPA for the 2 1/2 years she's been pursuing this dream. Folks, that's 2 1/2 years of NEVER missing a class meeting, NEVER missing a deadline, studying and writing papers for 5 days per week, 52 weeks per year. All the while coping with little darlin's who are now 8 and 4, AND with a Grumpy Old Man who muttered under his breath every so often about The Invisible Woman.
Oh, the "fun" part of this? Watching her try to comprehend that she doesn't have to study, study, study for the immediate future. She gets this confused look every so often, then gives a BIG smile! (Yes dear, you really do!)
KINDA-SORTA - I'm down to the last bit of my contract, which means I won't be traveling much. This is a Good Thing. I've learned that travelling on business is a miserable business, and really doesn't pay enough for the travelling part. The actual job I do once I get there is pretty straight-forward, and occasionally fun and interesting. On the gripping hand, I won't be getting paid much, either.
I've been firing off resumes and chasing down job leads for the last year, with just one success (this contract job). I've currently got two maybe-good job leads cooking away on the job stove. I'll keep you posted.
And now, Merry Christmas to you all!
