The leak is fixed!
Hooray!
I still have my fingers attached to my hands, which is a minor miracle. I had to use the jigsaw to carve out the bottoms of the the two kitchen cabinets so's I could get at the damp areas to clean and dry them before the dry rot set in. I didn't even ding myself. Tim the Tool Man - eat your heart out!

Had to go from San Jose to Oroville, a little matter of a 400+ mile round-trip. Since air service from San Jose to Oroville is non-existent, I had to rent a car (the Company Policy is anything over 60 miles from home, you get a rent-a-beast), then spend loooong, booooring hours getting there, 15 minutes fixing the licensing issue (see previous post of 10-26-02 for my snide remarks about that), then more looooong, booooring hours getting back home. Then did some more of the same today, out to Davis (near Sacramento, sorta-kinda), with intermediate stops in Concord and San Ramon. Only San Ramon was a "fix-it", the other two were upgrades - much more satisfying. Went slicker than snake-snot, too!

Got out and voted, by George! I'm one of the Ruling Minority. Now, if I just had a real choice...
Have you noticed that the candidates not only look the same (with handsome/pretty spouse, 2.3 cute kids, furry dog, etc), but they sound the same? And they "attack" each other the same way. I put "attack" in quotes for a reason. When I attended high school, US History was a required course. Part of that course was the study of some of the presidential election campaigns of the 1800s. Lemme tell you, today's politicians are absolute creampuffs!
(Sheesh - it helps if I "post" AND "publish" this thing when it's complete for the day, doesn't it?)
