If it's Tuesday, this must be Idaho.
It's cold up here (for a Calif guy), but very, very nice. Great scenery, nice people. As soon as FedEx gets here, I'm off to one of the local hospitals to do the software upgrade thang. Hopefully, it's one of those upgrades where I yawn, blink, and it's done. Very boring, when everything goes right. On the gripping hand, boring is a Good Thing for the customer!
Last week was a "lost week", professionally speaking. One of the upgrade sites in Calif looks to be a real bear - it's a very busy place, many heart patients who MUST be monitored at all times. Due to patient population being high, and hospital personnel being in short supply for the week, they asked that push the upgrade out to the week after Thanksgiving. Since I budgeted an entire week to allow for the patient population, that left me with a week of not much going on.
So, I just did "let's keep looking for a permanent full-time job" thing, which I've doing right along. Contracting is OK, for the short term. Travel, every once in a while, is OK. But the constant jump-on-the-airplane routine gets old pretty quick.
Know anyone in San Jose, CA that needs a MCSE who actually likes doing desktop support? I can be reached at WardG1@Yahoo.COM.

Did you see where Republican Dick Armey is going to be working with the ACLU? Sounds like setting the fox to guard the hen-house, doesn't it? A second look, especially at Armey's record for privacy issues, makes this move look a little better. Still, it does sound a little strange!
