This is an experiment in a "stream of consciouness" sort of way, containing my views, opinions, and observations of the world around me as I pass through it.
If you're expecting a particular viewpoint, you may be in for some surprises! I'm not PC, nor "conservative", nor "liberal", nor any of the other labels. I'm just a guy trying to move along.

Interesting stories in the San Jose Mercury-News from Saturday that wasn't on the front page:
The Drums of War are still beating
IF Saddam caves in completely as regards inspections, then he MIGHT survive. Of course if he does cave in, he'll have enough domestic problems to keep him busy for a while. The problem with being a dictator is that if you show any weakness at all, you're probably in for a most interesting (and possibly shortened) life. He's already turned a bunch of prisoners loose, most of whom have absolutely no reason to love him.
Letting TelCo's that are in trouble fail?
Dan Gillmore (http://www.siliconvalley.com/mld/siliconvalley/business/columnists/dan_gillmor/ejournal/) is a business writer at the SJ Mercury News. He contends that letting Telecomm Companies that are in trouble go ahead and fail would, in the long term, be a Good Thing. The link takes you to his blog.

Graduation from College
Today my wife (SWMBO) graduates from the University of Phoenix after a very long and arduous road. While juggling 2 small kids (8 yrs and 4 yrs), 1 GOM hubby, and a demanding job, she attended classes, did homework/papers, dispensed hugs/kisses/bandaids, AND retained her sanity, all the while maintaining a 3.8+ GPA! It's been a long road, with a few bumps along the way. My admiration is HUUUUGE!!
